Clipped
(Photographed at Graceland, Memphis, 2000)
Polymer gravure print, edition of 25
Signed, titled and dated in pencil on print recto
34 x 43 inches framed
Photo-polymer gravure of Elvis getting his haircut for the Army in 1958. We can see Elvis’s privacy being dramatically stripped from him. The look in his eyes has Elvis in some faraway place trying to hold onto himself, as we witness the barbers imposing (menacing) forearm reaching across into Elvis’s personal space and clipping him of his iconic hairstyle.
